収穫量と品質低下の恐れ 減産でヘナ相場が高騰

In the beginning of the rainy season this year, the henna farmers of Sojat were happy with a couple of good showers reported in the region. All the farmers were
expecting good crops of henna. Unfortunately, the Sojat region received heavy rain multiple times afterwards. Henna plants need 3-4 good showers at proper intervals to grow healthier and
excessive rain ruins the plants. Wet fields, excessive moisture, and heavy dew are strong enemies of henna plants. After good rain henna plants require good sunlight to grow
healthier.
But the circumstances did not go accordingly. Heavy moisture and wet muddy fields helped insects to grow, which were harmful for henna leaves. Waterlogging in the
fields lowered the dyeing power of henna leaves.
We came to know while we were in Sojat that this year farmers were expecting 60% to 70% production out of their fields. It seems difficult for demand to meet
supply. Farmers would definitely experience some sort of loss in this season. The daily wage workers who harvest the crops for were quite expensive. As a result, the selling price of the henna
leaves in the market is a bit higher.
The quality of henna leaves this year is on the lower side as compared to past years. But the production of the henna leaves out of the last phase harvesting is
excellent with fully grown, completely ripe, and full of dyeing properties leaves. Last phase harvesting period is almost going to be over next week. Nowadays best quality henna leaves are
available in the market. We are happy that our procurement of best quality henna leaves is underway and hope to provide good henna to our customers.
